Support for standardized and personalized processes

Prowhy supports the most common resolution approaches (Anomaly, PDCA, 8D, 9S) and facilitates escalation. Its modular design allows to create your custom processes.

Team building

Prowhy allows to set up a resolution team. Standard roles are proposed, and it is possible to add as many participants as necessary.

Actions and action plans

Conservatory, corrective, preventive, cause validation or improvement actions are managed through individual or global action plans.

Root Cause Analysis

Prowhy integrates  several root cause analysis tools (Ishikawa diagram, 5 Why, Cause Tree).

Quality tools

Many standard quality tools are available and can be used in the different phases of the process (QQOQCP, Ishikawa diagram, decision matrices...)

Scopes

Scopes allow processes to be managed in a compartmentalized way (e.g. with a customer or a supplier).

Images and documents

Prowhy allows, at all stages of the process, to combine images and documents to illustrate and detail the information.

Authentication

Prowhy allows secure authentication via LDAP.

API and data export

A very complete API allows Prowhy to be easily interfaced with other tools. Data exports (spreadsheet and pdf format) are also available in the application.

Free Software

Prowhy is free software. This means that you have access to the source code, and can study and modify it.

The new version of Prowhy will take over all the features of the old one while improving them. New tools such as decision matrices will complement the many existing ones It will now be possible to create a methodology personalized to your structure as well as the acquisition of specific data using customized fields. This new version should be available during 2021

We decided to develop a new version of ProWhy from scratch.
This application will use last versions of Ruby and Ruby on Rails and permit to improve updates, security and performances.

ProWhy must be installed on a server.
It is a web application developed with the Ruby On Rails framework that can be installed on any Linux server. The installation on Windows Server is also possible but not documented.
The complete Linux installation documentation is available on this site.
The user has nothing to install on his machine and can use any operating system (windows, linux, ios, android etc...).
Only a recent browser and a connection to the server are required. The application is optimized for Mozilla Firefox, but can also be used with IE, Chrome, Safari, etc...

Technologies

Prowhy is a "full web" solution developed using the Ruby language, associated with the web application development framework: Ruby on Rails. This allows to centralize the application on a web server. An internet connection as well as a (login, password) are enough to use all the features of Prowhy. Maintenance and version changes are thus facilitated. To benefit from the power of Prowhy, it is necessary to enable JavaScript in browsers using the application. Prowhy is compatible with any type of recent browser and has been optimized for Mozilla FireFox.
